Eagles believe AJ Brown avoids serious knee injury in Jaguars game; Report – NBC Sports Philadelphia

The sound you hear is the exhalation of the entire city of Philadelphia.

It sounds like AJ Brown is doing well.

The Eagles believe Brown has avoided a serious knee injury and is “expected to be fine,” Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports reported Monday morning.

According to Schultz, Brown will undergo an MRI scan of his knee today, but it's initially not expected to be anything major for the Pro Bowl receiver.

The 27-year-old Brown came out of the locker room with the team at halftime, but then went back in and didn't play at all in the second half of the Eagles' 28-23 win over the Jaguars.

“I will get more information. I haven’t met with the medical staff yet,” head coach Nick Sirianni said after the game. “I will get more information about him here. I hope he's well. He's obviously one of our best players and we missed him out there.

“I thought DeVonta (Smith) did an incredible job in his absence. We have two contact persons. DeVonta got more balls in his own way and made some unreal plays.”

With Brown out in the second half, Smith made some great plays. On the Eagles' 91-yard touchdown drive in the fourth quarter, Smith accounted for 78 yards and capped the drive with an incredible 25-yard touchdown catch in the back of the end zone.

But it will still be nice to have Brown back. In the first half, Brown was targeted four times and had two catches for 36 yards. Earlier this season, Brown missed three games with a hamstring injury sustained in practice, and the Eagles went 1-2 in those games, losing to Atlanta and Tampa before the bye.

This season, Brown has played in five games and recorded 23 catches for 444 yards and 3 touchdowns.
