First clouds, then chance of rain

Another storm system will increase cloud cover for Thursday. There may be a light drizzle in the morning, with a chance of scattered rain later in the day. A few severe thunderstorms may develop throughout the day, but will be mostly limited to areas west of DFW. Meanwhile, temperatures will remain mild with highs in the low 70s.

The likelihood of widespread showers and thunderstorms increases on Friday. Heavy rain can occur, especially in the evening. While the serious threat is low, the stronger storms may produce gusty winds and small hail. (The area is under a Level 1 (Marginal Risk) for severe thunderstorms on Thursday and Friday.) Precipitation totals could exceed 1 inch in DFW and exceed 2 inches farther west.

The weekend looks nice with sunshine. Highs will be in the upper 60s to low 70s. Lows will be in the upper 40s to mid 50s.
