Former $4 million Eagles Pro Bowler expected to land with Buccaneers

A former member of the Philadelphia Eagles will not play in Week 6, but could see action in the not-too-distant future.

Philadelphia signed Pro Bowler Devin White last offseason in hopes that he could provide much-needed help at linebacker, especially after trading Haason Reddick to the New York Jets.

The Eagles hoped White would play a major role on the team in 2024, but that wasn't the case. In fact, he never appeared in a game with Philadelphia. White was expected to be in the team's starting lineup for Week 1 in Brazil against the Green Bay Packers. He was forced to miss the competition due to injury and was then never able to regain his role.

Philadelphia recently cut ties with him by releasing him. He's now available on the open market and Bryan DeArdo of CBS Sports put the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the market as a replacement.

“A possible Tampa reunion? This cannot be ruled out as the Buccaneers recently placed promising linebacker SirVocea Dennis on injured reserve,” DeArdo said. “Unlike the other teams on this list, White knows the Buccaneers’ defensive system and wouldn’t need any time to get used to it.”

Tampa Bay has been a surprising team this season, recently defeating the Eagles. It wouldn't be shocking to see a team take a chance on white. He's only 26 years old and heading to the Pro Bowl. Things didn't work out with Philadelphia, but he'll likely get another chance soon and Tampa Bay might make sense.
