BOSTON – The Bruins will be back on home ice Thursday night when they host the Dallas Stars at TD Garden. Boston will look to end its two-game losing streak after losing the last two contests on the Western road trip.

“We have an opportunity tonight to get back on our feet and understand how we need to play to get better,” Bruins captain Brad Marchand said after morning skates at Warrior Ice Arena. “We watched some videos today to see areas where we can improve. It's an opportunity for us to work on it and get better. You can't look at the past, things we can't change.

“It’s about looking forward and understanding the things we need to get a little better at and work towards every day.”

Bruins coach Jim Montgomery added that he cares most about the team's process and is making sure that is supported as the team overcomes its early season struggles.

“I’m a process-oriented coach and there are certain things that get results,” Montgomery said. “Our process is not really good at the moment. If you want your team to be consistent, I need to be consistent in my messaging. We gave up too many odd-man rushes and most of them resulted from turnovers. This is because we are not patient with our offensive games and take too many penalties.

“And all of those things are parts of our process that produce results, and our results are our premier opportunities, and we're not hitting our numbers there right now.”
