The Georgia Southern football team will host Marshall on Saturday, October 12th at Allen E. Paulson Stadium in a crucial Sun Belt Conference game. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:05 p.m. and coverage is available on ESPNU.

After a week off, the Georgia Southern football team returns home Saturday for a conference game against Marshall at Allen E. Paulson Stadium/Evans Family Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:05 p.m. and will be broadcast nationally on ESPNU and streamed on the ESPN app. The game will also be broadcast on Georgia Southern Sports Network radio.   • Both teams have been ranked in the I-AA Top 25 poll in five of the last eight games, including three times when Marshall was ranked No. 1 in the country.
  • Marshall leads the series with the Eagles in Statesboro 3-1, but MU has actually played five games at Allen E. Paulson Stadium. The Thundering Herd lost to Youngstown State in the 1991 NCAA Division I-AA National Championship Game in Statesboro.
  • Eight members of the Eagle Nation will be inducted into the Georgia Southern Athletics Hall of Fame this weekend: Leonard Bevill (fan), Caroline Bevillard (swimming and diving), Matt Easterday (baseball), Darryl Hopkins (football), Andreas Koth (men's tennis) . ), Jerick McKinnon (football), Kellie Mitchell John (women's track and field) and the late Mike Sanders (fan).
  • Georgia Southern will wear a white-on-white combination at home for the second time in program history. The other time came in 2020 against UMass, when the Minutemen struggled to deliver their road uniforms on time during the COVID-19 pandemic.
