Goldfish has changed its name to “adult sound.” Why and how to buy

Goldfish is given an adult name to reflect its adult customers.

The popular fish-shaped snacks are being renamed Chilean Sea Bass for a limited time.

The packs of Chilean sea bass, available exclusively online, contain the exact same crackers as the regular goldfish. The only difference, according to a press release, is the more “adult” fish-based name.

According to the press release, the short-term name is intended to “remind” Generation Z and Millennial customers “who grew up with Goldfish” that the children's staple is meant for all generations.

The brand points to its other recent releases, such as Old Bay Goldfish and Frank's RedHot Goldfish, as products “designed for adult palates.” Chilean sea bass crackers are just the latest snack option for mature consumers.

Unlike the other adult Goldfish flavors, bags of Chilean sea bass are not available in grocery stores. Instead, snackers can purchase up to two bags of crackers ($7.38 each) at chileanseabasscrackers.com through October 30. The snacks will be available daily at 9 a.m. ET. But be careful: they sell out quickly every morning.

While Chilean sea bass crackers may not be found on grocery shelves, shoppers can look to the frozen section for another new item.

DiGiorno's Thanksgiving pizza is back after first launching in fall 2023. The Detroit-style pie is covered in mozzarella and cheddar cheese, then topped with turkey, gravy, green beans, cranberries, and crispy onions. This version is slightly different from the first pie from 2023, which also featured diced sweet potatoes.

The Thanksgiving pizza will be available for $10 at stores under the Kroger umbrella, including Harris Teeter and Ralph stores, through the end of November, a rep for DiGiorno confirmed to PEOPLE.
