Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase shows off his accolades right after stopping the ball for the Yankees in the ALCS

Emmanuel Clase is the best closer in baseball, but he looked anything but different on Thursday night.

The Cleveland Guardians reliever only allowed two home runs in the entire regular season, a miniscule ERA of 0.61.

But in Game 4 of the American League Championship Series, he allowed two home runs in a span of five pitches.

Clase came off the bench for a save with four outs, but allowed the game-winning solo home run to Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton.

Luckily for Clase, as quickly as they had blown their lead, the Guardians came right back and miraculously won to avoid a 3-0 hole.

And you better believe Clase isn't going to let one hard night define him.

After the game, Clase showed off all of his awards on Instagram. He took a video of his All-Star rings, his American League Reliever of the Year award from last year and his 2023 All-MLB plaque.

“Hablamos manana. Good night,” Clase wrote in the video, the Spanish portion of which translates to “We’ll talk tomorrow.”

It goes without saying that Clase's confidence hasn't wavered one bit. However, it's clear he hasn't been the same since the playoffs began.

He only allowed five earned runs in the regular season. He has already allowed six this postseason.

The Guardians were on the verge of their last hit, but Jhonkensy Noel hit a two-run home run to tie Yankees closer Luke Weaver. In Game 10, David Fry hit a two-run home run against Clay Holmes, who had a career postseason ERA of 0.00 entering the night.
