Today millions of voters across America will go to the polls as the nation votes on who will lead the country for the next four years.

The 2024 presidential race is one of the closest and most eventful in modern history. But how well do you remember what happened during the election campaign? Newsweek has put together a quiz based on the events during the race so you can test how well you remember the race.

As America heads to the polls, the numbers show a tight contest between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump.

No matter which candidate wins, they will make history because Harris would be the first woman, the first Black president and the first person of South Asian descent to be elected president if she defeats Trump.

If Trump wins, he would be the first convicted felon elected president and only the second former president to return to the top job since Grover Cleveland in 1893.

Towards the end of the race, the candidates made their final pitches to voters. With polls showing an imbalance, all eyes are on the battleground states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, Nevada and Wisconsin.

More than 82 million Americans have already voted, according to the University of Florida's Election Lab, and results from key swing states may be too close to call Tuesday night.
