Diwali 2024: Holiday on November 1st (Friday)

On November 1, banks in states like Tripura, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Sikkim and Manipur will be closed due to observance of Deepavali, Kut and Kannada Rajyotsava.

Diwali 2024: Holiday on November 1st (Friday)

Holiday on November 2nd

On November 2, banks in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and other states will also be closed due to Diwali, Laxmi Puja and Govardhan Pooja. It is important to note that this date coincides with the first Saturday of the month, which is not normally a holiday.

Holiday on November 3rd

Additionally, on November 3, banks in all Indian states and union territories will remain closed on Sundays.

Diwali celebrations began on October 29 with Dhanteras and will end on November 3 with Bhai Dooj.

To celebrate Diwali 2024, trading activities on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) will be closed today. Therefore, there will be no trading in the equity segment, equity derivative segment and SLB segment. In addition, trading in the foreign exchange derivatives segment will also be suspended due to the Festival of Lights. However, a one-hour Muhurat trading session will be held on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the holiday schedule for November 2024. Due to various regional festivals, events and commemorations, which may vary by location, banks will remain closed for 12 days this month. The list includes all Sundays as well as the second and fourth Saturdays. It is advisable to consult this schedule to plan your visits accordingly.
