Caitlin Clark’s rookie season in the WNBA is over.

The Indiana Fever were eliminated from the 2024 WNBA playoffs after being swept by the Connecticut Sun in the first round of best-of-three play. The Sun fended off a late comeback in Game 2 after winning Game 1 on Sunday.

Clark had a solid performance in the elimination game, scoring 25 points, nine assists and six rebounds, the most of the game, in the Fever's 81-87 loss. She also had a steal and a block, along with three turnovers. This came after Clark scored 11 points with eight assists in her playoff debut.

While it wasn't nearly as clear as Connecticut's win on Sunday, the Sun led for most of the game. Clark opened the game with a three-pointer that made it look like it was going to be a night of good shots. Just a few minutes later, she hit her second three-pointer to give Indiana a nine-point lead after sinking two of her first three attempts from beyond the three-point line.

But after that, Clark had a hard time getting another long shot. She made just 1 of 9 three-pointers after that, allowing the Sun to take the lead and hold on to it. Connecticut extended its lead to nine points in the fourth quarter, but Indiana caught up and took a narrow 75-73 lead, giving it a chance at a decisive Game 3. Connecticut then closed the game with a 14-6 run to secure the sweep. Clark didn't attempt a shot in the final two minutes and finished the night making 10 of 23 field goals, including 3 of 12 three-pointers.

Clark's record-breaking rookie season ends after a total of 42 games. In her first year, including the playoffs, Clark scored 805 points, recorded 354 assists and grabbed 237 rebounds.
