The San Antonio Spurs will host the Minnesota Timberwolves in their first game of the season on Saturday night at Frost Bank Center.

Spurs, who picked up their first away win against the Jazz, will be keen to add momentum to Victor Wembanyama's latest game. Wembanyama, who has had some ups and downs this season, faces Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert in a battle of elite shot blockers. The game will be a celebration of Hispanic Heritage Night, with special festivities for fans in attendance.

Minnesota enters the race as slight favorites with a -4.5 margin, but San Antonio will look to pick up a win at home.

The biggest storyline tonight revolves around the highly anticipated duel between Victor Wembanyama and Rudy Gobert, former teammates with the French national team during the Olympics.

These two players are often compared to each other and it is clear that Wembanyama has long idolized Gobert's game. Gobert, known as one of the league's best shot blockers, and Wembanyama, who brings his own impressive defensive skills, were neck-and-neck for the Defensive Player of the Year award last season, with Gobert ultimately taking home the honor took home.

Tonight we'll see how that plays out on the pitch.
