Substitute Kenan Yildiz scored twice as Juventus fought to a draw against Inter Milan in an eight-goal duel between the Serie A giants.

Inter, for whom Piotr Zielinski scored two penalties in the first half, led 4-2 at the start of the second half but were unable to extend their lead.

The result of the game, known in the past as the Derby d'Italia, means Inter remain second in the table with Juventus one point behind in third.

Danilo caught Marcus Thuram in the penalty area and gave Zielinski his first chance from the penalty spot, which he shot into the middle.

Juventus equalized shortly afterwards when Juan Cabal's ball was thrown over the goal line and found Weston McKennie, who directed Dusan Vlahovic into the goal.

Timothy Weah scored from close range, tucking in a cross from Francisco Conceicao to put Juventus in the lead, before Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored his first goal of the season with a low finish from Thuram's pass.

Pierre Kalulu fouled Denzel Dumfries, giving Inter a second penalty, and Zielinski this time converted the corner to give themselves a 3-2 half-time lead.

Dumfries struck from inside the box to give Inter a two-goal lead, but Yildiz and Juventus fought their way back into the game.

McKennie met Yildiz for the first time in the 71st minute when the teenage Turkish striker shot through Dumfries' legs.

Yildiz then grabbed the ball from Conceicao across the penalty area and shot into the bottom corner to equalize.

Juventus goalkeeper Michele di Gregorio made a brilliant save to deny Nicolo Barella and Federico Dimarco, while Lautaro Martinez shot highest from Federico Dimarco's cross but sent his header wide.
