Jason Kelce has broken his silence on the incident in which he smashed a heckler's cellphone at Penn State.

On ESPN's “Monday Night Countdown” before the Chiefs took on the Buccaneers, Kelce expressed regret for his actions – but refrained from an open apology.

“I think everyone saw what happened this week on social media. Listen, I'm not happy with everything that happened. I'm not proud of it. In a heated moment, I decided to meet hate with hate, and I just don't think that's a productive thing to do. I really don't. I don't think it creates a discourse and it's the right way to approach things and in that moment I fell to a level that I shouldn't have,” Kelce said.

“I think the bottom line is that I try to live my life by the Golden Rule. I was always taught that. I try to treat people with decency and respect and I will continue to do that, even if I didn't succeed this week.”

When Penn State hosted Ohio State in a huge Big Ten matchup on Saturday, Kelce — who appeared on ESPN College GameDay — walked around campus with a 12-pack of Garage Beer, which included him and his brother Travis.

A video went viral of a young man walking behind the former Eagles offensive lineman and harassing him.

“Kelce, how does it feel that your brother is ready to date Taylor Swift?” the man asked.

Kelce immediately turned around and confronted the man, eventually responding to the insult, grabbing the man's phone and smashing it on the ground.

“Who the fuck is now?” Kelce asked him.
