Jason Kelce breaks his silence after smashing Heckler's phone

Jason Kelce has more or less apologized for smashing the phone of a heckler who insulted his brother Travis with a homophobic slur because he was dating Taylor Swift.

“Listen, I'm not happy with anything that's happened,” the former Eagles center said during a regular appearance on ESPN's Monday Night Countdown. “I'm not proud of it and in a heated moment I decided to meet hate with hate and I just don't think that's a productive thing to do, I really don't think so.”

Although Kelce didn't exactly use the words “sorry” or “I apologize,” it was still refreshing to see someone rich, famous, successful and male take responsibility – even after being provoked.

“I try to treat people with decency and respect and I will continue to do that,” Kelce said. “Even though I fell short this week, I will and will continue to do so in the future.”

Penn State University's Department of Police and Public Safety is investigating the virus incident that occurred outside Beaver Stadium on Saturday Philadelphia Investigators reported. In videos circulating on social media, Kelce, who was in town for ESPN's “College GameDay,” can be seen walking toward the stadium with a case of beer as a crowd follows him and cheers.

At one point, a man in a Penn State hoodie with his cell phone out yells, “Hey Kelce! How does it feel that your brother is dating Taylor Swift?” As the man keeps heckling and filming, Kelce stops, snatches the phone out of his hand, smashes it on the floor, then picks it up and continues walking .

“Give me my phone, dude,” the heckler says, and Kelce replies, “Who the fuck now?”

Kelce's brother Travis, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, has been in a relationship with pop megastar Swift since the summer of 2023. The brothers often discuss the high-profile relationship on their popular podcast New Heights, and Jason has unequivocally offered his support to Travis.

“In that moment, I fell to a level I shouldn’t have,” he added.
