Washington Commanders offensive guard Sam Cosmi thought the ending to Sunday's 18-15 win over the Chicago Bears could only have come from Hollywood scriptwriters.

Cosmi said Jayden Daniels' Hail Mary to Noah Brown was “like a movie.”

“A front-row seat is an amazing thing,” he said. “That was just crazy. That will always stay in my mind. What a moment.”

Daniels stood on his own 35-yard line and began a prayer toward the end zone. The ball deflected into the waiting arms of Brown, who stood all alone, waiting for a possible tip-off.

Everyone dreams of hitting a Hail Mary in the final seconds to win a game.

It's a moment without parallels because there's nothing like watching it actually work. With all due respect to the kickers, a game-winning field goal simply cannot be compared.

A successful Hail Mary that wins an NFL game is relatively rare. Sunday was the first since 2020 when Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins beat the Buffalo Bills in the final seconds. The last one before that was in 2015.

Daniels' move to Brown will become more significant if the Commanders make the playoffs. At 6-2, Washington remains in first place in the NFC East, making this a special year for a franchise that has seen plenty of mediocrity over the past decade.
