One: SEA forward lines revised for Thursday's jet arrival

About halfway through Tuesday's hard-fought 3-2 loss to Colorado, Kraken coach Dan Bylsma decided to change his attacking combinations to get more shots on goal and provide an overall spark on offense. At Wednesday's practice, all four Kraken lines remained changed, breaking up assistant captain Yanni Gourde's so-called fourth line of Tye Kartye and Brandon Tanev, which was primarily the energy line for Seattle with several quality scoring opportunities in each game.

Kraken coach Dan Bylsma deliberately avoided any numbering when naming his striker trios. Gourde will center wingers Oliver Björkstrand and Eeli Tolvanen, a team that developed good chemistry and scored goals last season. Matty Beniers, who had strong games in all zones on this homestand, will return to his linemates with whom he worked in his first two seasons: captain Jordan Eberle (five goals in seven games) and Jared McCann (who led the team with nine points). scored his 100Th Goal with the Franchise Tuesday). Chandler Stephenson and Jaden Schwartz remain together (coaches like to keep pairs when reworking their lines), with Brandon Tanev operating on the right wing. That leaves rookie center Shane Wright with Tye Kartye on the left wing and Andre Burakovsky (five assists) on the right.

“We don’t want to compromise our performance in the first period (Tuesday),” Bylsma said, calling it the best opening 20 minutes for his team, which has four wins in seven games. “But I think there are things we can do better from a team and individual perspective.”
