The Carolina Hurricanes stormed into Climate Pledge Arena on Saturday night and defeated the Seattle Kraken 4-1. Jared McCanns The second-period goal prevented the Canes from shutting out the Kraken on the final night of their five games at home.

Jared McCann has 10 points (4 goals and 6 assists) in the last six games and leads the team with 12 total points (5 goals and 7 assists).

Seattle continues to struggle on the power play, missing three chances and shots on goal. The Kraken only had 19 shots on goal compared to the Canes' 39. The Kraken also struggled with penalties throughout the game, giving the Canes an even bigger advantage. Carolina scored their first goal on a power play from the right winger Andrei Svechnikov. Jack Drury scored a tip-in during a scuffle around the net in the second period, and Seth Jarvis scored with a wrist shot. Dmitry Orlov added the empty netter in the third.

The Kraken begin a five-game road trip on Tuesday in Montreal, followed by stops in Toronto (October 31), Ottawa (November 2), Boston (November 3) and Colorado (November 5).
