LEMONT, IL Thanks to its students' record-breaking performance on college-level Advanced Placement exams last spring, Lemont High School was again named to the 2024 AP Honor Roll, according to a news release from the school.

It received the “Silver” award for the second year in a row.

The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools that have done outstanding work to welcome more students into AP courses and support them on the path to college success, a news release said.

Schools are ranked in the areas of College Culture (number of recently graduated seniors who have taken at least one AP exam in their career) and College Credit (number of recently graduated seniors who have taken at least one AP exam in their career). passed the exam). and “college optimization” (percentage of recent graduates who have taken five or more AP exams in their career, including at least one as a freshman or sophomore).

To receive AP Honor Roll Silver recognition, schools must achieve at least 50 percent in “College Culture,” at least 30 percent in “College Credit,” and at least five percent in “College Optimization.” According to LHS, Lemont has improved its percentages from 2023 in all three criteria.

His College Credit score (49 percent) met the criteria for the Gold award and his College Optimization score (25 percent) met the standard for the Platinum award. The “university culture” value (64 percent) missed the gold award by just one point.
