The Tennessee Titans continue their quest for a second win of the season with a very winnable game against the New England Patriots on Sunday at Nissan Stadium.

Tennessee (1-6) played its worst game overall in last weekend's loss to Detroit and has a lengthy injury record. L'Jarius Sneed and Tyjae Spears have been ruled out, while Dillon Radunz is also inactive.

Mason Rudolph will start at QB since Will Levis is inactive for the third straight game.

New England's Drake Maye is free of a concussion and is not listed on the injury report, so he will start for the visitors on Sunday. The Patriots (2-6) earned a home win against the Jets last Sunday.

A TD run by Tony Pollard was called back for a holding penalty against Josh Whyle, and on 4th-and-goal from the Patriots' 3-yard line, Brian Callahan opted for a short field goal by Nick Folk to tie the game.

Aided by three defensive penalties from the Titans, the Patriots used nearly half of the third quarter to take the lead. Rhamondre Stevenson capped it off with a 1-yard touchdown run. PAT good.

12 plays, 70 yards in 7:21.

Titans stats

  • Mason Rudolph: 9-19, 117 yards, TD, INT; 2 runs, 15 yards
  • Tony Pollard: 10 carries, 69 yards; 1 catch, 9 yards
  • Calvin Ridley: 2 catches, 37 yards
  • Nick Vannett: 2 catches, 33 yards, touchdown

Patriots stats

  • Drake Maye: 12-15, 82 yards, INT; 2 runs for 39 yards
  • Rhamondre Stevenson: 6 carries, 7 yards; 2 catches, 16 yards
  • Kendrick Bourne: 3 catches, 34 yards

The Titans get into scoring range after a catch by Calvin Ridley, then move back and out of scoring range after a holding penalty and a delay of game penalty. The half ends with two throwaways from Mason Rudolph into the stands. Ugly, ugly football.

Quandre Diggs will not return with a foot injury, the Titans announce. Tough loss for the Tennessee secondary.

A drive into Titans territory by Drake Maye puts New England in the scoring zone, but a penalty and a TFL from Jack Gibbens stops the drive.

Joey Slye's 52-yard field goal is good, and New England is on the field.

Quandre Diggs is sent from the sideline after leaving the game in the second quarter. He initially went into the blue tent, but was taken away after a few minutes. No word on the injury or designation from the Titans.

A third-and-goal pass slips out of Chig Okonkwo's hands and is intercepted by Patriots linebacker Jahlani Tavai in the end zone. Okonkwo had to get it done, but Rudolph wasn't placed optimally either.

Drake Maye throws late over the middle and is intercepted by Amani Hooker, who returns the pass to the Patriots' 40-yard line. Tennessee has very good field position early in the second quarter.

A sack by Harold Landry on third down forces a long field goal attempt by Patriots kicker Joey Slye, and the 56-yard field goal attempt is useless. The Titans offense will have good field position at 7-0.

Good opening drive for the Titans' offense, boosted by a third-down scramble by Mason Rudolph and a 32-yard run by Tony Pollard. Rudolph then finds Nick Vannett for a 9-yard touchdown pass. PAT good. Titans 7, Patriots 0.

8 plays, 75 yards in 4:42.

The Titans receive the first kickoff and it is a touchback. But the Titans' KR unit is cited for an illegal formation. Given the attention given to this unit this week, things are looking difficult.

John Ojukwu, Nicholas Petit-Frere and Leroy Watson are all active, but Watson appears to be the first-team right tackle in warmups. Daniel Brunskill is next to him as right-back, replacing the inactive Dillon Radunz.

The Titans will be without right guard Dillon Radunz on Sunday against the Patriots. He and QB Will Levis are among the inactives. Tony Pollard is among the long list of questionable players who will play against New England.

  • LB Cedric Gray

The Titans exceeded reporter Nick Suss' prediction: Patriots 20, Titans 14

The circumstances here are not ripe for points. The Titans almost certainly have a talent advantage and no one should be shocked if the more talented team wins at home. But until they prove they can play four full quarters without ruining their own chances with self-inflicted mistakes, it's hard to predict a Titans victory.

Inactives will be announced Sunday at 10:30 a.m. CT. For now, here is the full injury report for the two teams starting the game.
