Missing Suzanne Simpson's daughter says her father 'took my mother's life'

Texas luxury real estate agent Suzanne Simpson has been missing for over a month, and while her husband Brad Simpson has been charged with assaulting her before her disappearance, her daughter believes her father “took my mother's life.”

“My mother was abused by my father,” 20-year-old Chandler Simpson wrote on Instagram. “My father took my mother’s life in a state of rage and control,” the San Antonio Express-News reported.

Suzanne Simpson, 51, disappeared on October 6th after reportedly arguing with her husband of 22 years in Olmos Park in the San Antonio area.

According to the affidavit obtained by Fox News Digital, a neighbor told police he saw Brad and Suzanne fighting on the night of Oct. 6 and later heard screaming coming from a nearby wooded area. The neighbor noticed that “Ms. Simpson attempted to free herself from Mr. Simpson's grasp as he attempted to pull her down,” the report continued.

The couple's youngest child told school staff that her parents had been arguing and that her father had punched her mother in the face and possibly pushed her against a wall and taken her cellphone, the affidavit said.

“This should not happen in our community and I will not stop speaking as my mother’s voice until she is found. I will forever represent all victims of domestic violence and assault,” Chandler Simpson continued in her post. “As my mother’s daughter, I will tell our story over and over again. With every breath I will make sure you remember her name. Suzanne Simpson was a victim of abuse and a victim of this community. Not only was she a victim, but she was also a phenomenal mother, hardworking, motivated, loving and kind.”

Brad Simpson was initially charged with assault on a family member causing bodily harm and unlawful restraint for the Oct. 6 incident with his wife. He was later charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and ultimately tampering with/falsifying physical evidence. He is being held on a $3 million bond.

Despite the charges against him, authorities have not charged him in connection with his wife's disappearance.

“Anyone who chooses to remain silent is choosing to close themselves off from domestic violence in our homes. “My mother tried to leave my father and died,” wrote the 20-year-old Simpson daughter.

“It’s a disgrace to my community that I didn’t speak out about domestic violence. In Alamo Heights, women are marginalized every day by society and misogyny and are told to keep their mouths shut. THIS IS THE TIME TO SPEAK. SPEAK FOR MY MOM. SPEAK FOR YOURSELF. Her voice will be heard, my mother fought for her life, fought for her family and herself.

Before his daughter's words, Brad Simpson's brother condemned his lack of cooperation with law enforcement.

“It is important to assist investigators, especially in a case where a mother of four children is missing. As a husband and father, I find it inconceivable that anyone would refuse to cooperate when the life of a loved one is in danger,” Barton Simpson told MySA. “In this situation, collaboration could provide answers that help the family find closure or move forward. Brad’s refusal to help – even at some risk to himself – shows a troubling lack of empathy for those he claims to love.”

Responding to Brad Simpson's attorney Steven Gilmore calling the allegations against his client “ridiculous,” he wrote in a Facebook post: “The truly ridiculous thing is that Brad is refusing to cooperate with authorities while his wife is missing and leaves his children and his family behind.” Pain.”

According to the affidavit, Barton Simpson told police that Brad Simpson called him and apologized for any problems he caused.

“If a person is not involved in criminal activity, they typically talk to law enforcement voluntarily,” attorney and former homicide detective Ted Williams previously told Fox News Digital. “But if the individual feels that Law enforcement If he specifically suspects them of being involved in the criminal activities, such as that his wife Suzanne Simpson was involved in some form of crime, then he will quite naturally not talk to them whether he has hired a lawyer or not not I will talk to them.

Authorities searched extensively for Suzanne, including in Olmos Park, surrounding wooded areas and a landfill in southeast Bexar County, but she has not been found.

Suzanne's mother, Barbara Clark, had previously told the story News 4 San Antonio that she doesn't believe her daughter is alive.

James “Val” Cotter, Brad Simpson's longtime friend and business partner, is accused of hiding Brad's gun after Brad sent him a series of threatening text messages just days after his wife's disappearance.

“He has shown that he will do whatever it takes to protect (Brad Simpson),” said prosecutor Casey Sandoval, the San Antonio Express-News reported. She said Cotter lied to authorities about the gun twice to protect Brad Simpson. Cotter and Brad Simpson had been friends for 25 years, investigators said.

Cotter was arrested Oct. 21 and charged with tampering with evidence and possession of a prohibited weapon, both third-degree felonies. Authorities said his case is related to the investigation into Suzanne Simpson's disappearance, the outlet added.

His bond was set at $1 million and he was in court Monday and Tuesday seeking to have his bond reduced. The judge delayed Tuesday's hearing because the flight of Cotter's mother, who was scheduled to testify, was delayed, the local outlet reported.

Cotter's attorney Robert Maurer called Cotter's $1 million bond unconstitutional, KSAT reported. “The only reason the state wants to keep these bonds high is to keep him in prison,” Maurer said.

Family and friends of Suzanne Simpson appeared in the courtroom during Cotter's hearing to show support for the missing mother and held her missing person poster during the hearing, the outlet reported.

“What is unusual is that this was a woman who worked and was very reliable, loved her children and was always in touch with her children, her family and her friends. All of a sudden it stopped…,” Olmos Park Police Chief Fidel Villegas said.

Brad Simpson's arraignment hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, November 13th. His attorney did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

“If you stand with my mother and our family, please be present at my father's hearing on November 13th at SATX, stand silently with us for my mother, justice will be served and my mother will go home brought,” wrote his daughter Chandler.
