The New York Jets are in Foxborough, Massachusetts today to take on the New England Patriots. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. EDT.

The Patriots dominated this rivalry for many years, winning 23 of the last 27 games against the Jets. However, the Jets have won each of their last two matchups by multiple touchdowns. Before the Jets' win in Foxborough last year, the Jets had not beaten the Patriots on the road since their playoff win in the 2010-2011 season.

The Patriots opened this season with a surprising 16-10 road win over the Cincinnati Bengals. They haven't won since. The Patriots have lost their last six games. They currently have the longest losing streak in the NFL. Not only did the Patriots lose, they suffered major losses. Four of the last five games were double-digit losses. This is a very bad Patriots team, arguably the worst team in the NFL.

All the losses have accelerated Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye's plan. Maye began the year on the bench with the intent of giving him time to develop behind interim starter Jacoby Brissett. This plan fell by the wayside after several bankruptcies. Maye took over as starting quarterback two games ago, and while the Patriots kept falling out, Maye has breathed some life into a moribund Patriots offense.

The Jets almost matched the Patriots' dismal record this season. The only thing separating the Jets from last place in the AFC East is a 24-3 home win over the Patriots earlier this season.

The Jets have a much better roster than the Patriots, with advantages at quarterback, wide receiver, offensive line, running back, cornerback and linebacker. However, the talent advantage on paper has proven largely illusory on the field. The Jets simply haven't played well this season, especially the highly touted Aaron Rodgers, who has been beyond terrible. His only great game this season was the 24-3 loss to the Patriots earlier in the season. We'll see if today's rematch sparks an encore from Rodgers.

It's the Jets and the Patriots. Have fun with the game.
