MINNEAPOLIS – Wednesday starts off mild, but temperatures drop as the day progresses. Our Halloween forecast looks unsuitable for trick-or-treaters.

Early showers to the north and south will ease by midday Wednesday, but a second evening storm will bring more showers and isolated thunderstorms southeast of Minnesota as cold air moves in. While we start in the 70s, we'll drop to the 50s by dinner time.

Halloween will be the coldest day in October. Sustained moisture in the morning could result in minor snowfall north of the Twin Cities and possibly even some flakes in the metro. It should be dry by trick-or-treating time, but a wind chill in the 30s will be an issue.

Friday will be dry and sunny – an average day in early November. Temperatures will return to more seasonal levels over the weekend, with the chance of rain continuing into early next week.
