New York Rangers defenseman K'Andre Miller pays tribute to another former Big Apple superstar with his new hairstyle.

In conversation with Larry Brooks from the New York Post (h/t B/R Open Ice) Miller said his curly blonde hairstyle was “completely inspired” by wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.'s look during his time with the New York Giants:

Beckham, who currently plays for the Miami Dolphins, was one of the biggest names in the NFL when he was a member of the Giants for five seasons from 2014 to 2018, earning three Pro Bowl selections during that time.

OBJ took the NFL by storm as a rookie in 2014 with 92 receptions for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns and was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Beckham averaged 96 catches for 1,374 yards and nearly 12 touchdowns in his first three seasons. While the main reason for his popularity was probably his play, his personality and looks also contributed.

He has never been the same player since breaking his leg in 2017 and tearing his ACL in 2020, but he was instrumental in the Los Angeles Rams winning the 2021 Super Bowl after signing him from the Cleveland Browns.

Beckham also suffered a second ACL tear in the Super Bowl and missed all of 2022 before playing for the Baltimore Ravens last season.

He has yet to make his debut for the Dolphins and is currently on the list of players who are physically unable to perform. Beckham may be nearing the end of his career, but perhaps Miller can take the torch for him when it comes to sports superstar status in New York City.

Miller, 24, is preparing for his fifth NHL season after the Rangers selected him 22nd overall in the first round of the 2018 NHL Draft.

The 1.95 m tall and 95 kg defender was a threatening presence in the Rangers' defense and a torment for the opposing strikers.

Miller set career highs with nine goals and 34 assists for 43 points in the 2022-23 season, but is primarily known as a defensive-minded defender, and he has shown that clearly in recent years.

In addition to eight goals and 22 assists for 30 points, giving him a plus-5 rating, Miller had over 100 goals and 100 blocked shots for the second consecutive season.

The Rangers have made three straight playoff appearances, reaching the Eastern Conference Finals twice, and if they want to break through and compete for the Stanley Cup this season, Miller's solid play could be a big reason why.
