Actress Raven-Symoné mourns the death of her father Christopher B. Pearman. The 38-year-old Disney star shared the news in a social media post. In the post, Raven-Symoné shared a throwback picture of her and her late father when she was a child. In the photo, she was smiling between her father and a woman.

“My life was long and rich. And the path I'm on began with a dream. I hope he's watching with a smile on his face…🕊️#christopherbpearman,” the caption under the photo read.

A social media user commented on the post and confirmed that Christopher had passed away. “Are you saying your father died???? He and I are friends on Facebook and we are very close and I really need to know??????????,” the user wrote. The podcast host responded to the commenter with, “Yes, maam.”

Fans and celebrities alike expressed their love and condolences. Actress Holly Robinson Peete, Yvette Nicole Brown and Yvette Nicole Brown all sent well wishes in the comments section.

Christopher played a notable role in Raven-Symoné's career – he was her manager until she asked to manage her own money.

In 2010, Pearman spoke about the transition and how he felt about it during an interview with NPR.

“She got to a point where she said, ‘Dad, I can run my own company.’ “I can do my own thing,” he said at the time.

He also said he wasn't hurt “at all” by her decision to run her own business.

“I have been taking care of this girl's career since she was six months old. It's like when you have a kid and you say, 'You know, I'm ready to go to college, do my own thing and move out of the house.' You know, it's okay, go ahead,” said he during the NPR interview.

Pearman helped Raven on her way to stardom when, at the age of two, she expressed her desire to become an actress after watching The Cosby Show.

“I saw the seriousness in her eyes and then made it clear to her what it would take and she agreed to what it took.”

Over the years, Christopher also tried his hand at producing and directing some episodes of That's so Raven – a successful Disney sitcom in which the 38-year-old played the main role.

This has been a time of grief for the actress, considering she lost her younger brother Blaize to colon cancer in November last year.

“‘Last month I lost my brother. He's in a better place now. He is loved and missed. The emotions that have arisen flow in and out of my body and mind. My family has moved a little closer together,” she wrote in a social media post. This season we are sending much healing energy to Raven-Symoné and her family.
