The NFL trade deadline is approaching and teams have one last chance to significantly reshape their rosters before moving on to the second half of the regular season.

Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET marks the official deadline for all 32 teams, although many have already taken action and nine deals have been finalized since the start of the season. But could there be more notable moves the next day?

USA TODAY Sports will provide live updates from across the league on the latest news and trade deadline news. So check back regularly for the latest information:

Jerry Jones doesn't let go of hope that the Cowboys' season can be saved. Even though his team was 3-5, Jones suggested his team might consider making a purchase at the NFL trade deadline.

“We have to do a few things this week,” Jones said after Sunday’s 27-21 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

But Jarrett Bell of USA TODAY Sports is among the skeptics who expect Jones to break out of his personnel mold and make a significant move. Bell takes a closer look at Dallas' prospects in his column on Sunday.

By firing Dennis Allen on Monday, the New Orleans Saints took a drastic step to signal that they will not stick with the status quo. Could there be more to come before trading closes on Tuesday?

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero said the team is unlikely to conduct a fire sale. And given the rapid restructuring the team has undertaken in recent years, there are few ways the team can improve its cap prospects (New Orleans is projected to have $61.5 million in 2025, according to OverTheCap.com). are above the upper limit). .

Defensive lineman Chase Young is one of the few mobile players as he is on a one-year contract. Four-time Pro Bowl cornerback Marshon Lattimore may be one of the team's most intriguing players, but it's unclear whether he would require treatment as he battles a hamstring injury that forced him to miss Sunday's loss to Carolina Panthers to miss.

While many big names have already been postponed, there are still some notable figures who could be available, including:

  • 1. Azeez Ojulari, OLB, New York Giants
  • 2. Za'Darius Smith, DE, Cleveland Browns
  • 3. Jonathan Jones, CB, New England Patriots

The 2024 NFL trade deadline is set for Tuesday, November 5th at 4:00 p.m. ET.

The deadline comes midseason because NFL owners voted in March to push the season back a week from its traditional spot on the league calendar. After Tuesday, teams will no longer be able to make official trades until the start of the new league year in March.
