Sheridan County is alerting the public to an evacuation center at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds at 1753 Victoria St. in Sheridan. Floyd Whiting has more.

This evacuation center will accommodate large and small animals and will also be able to accommodate people. If you have been evacuated, you can also bring your RV with you to the fairgrounds. Please ensure that you report to staff upon arrival.

If residents are evacuated and find themselves without shelter, an emergency shelter has been set up at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds. Sites are available if individuals have an RV and require electrical hookup. If you have specific questions, please contact Sheridan County Emergency Management at 307-752-2174.

Ready, Set, Go is a fire safety program that helps the public prepare for outdoor fire hazards.

Ready is a warning to take action and prepare for a fire hazard. This includes taking personal responsibility and being aware of your willingness.

Sentence is an alert to stay informed about the fire and be aware of the situation when a fire is imminent. This includes receiving local emergency notifications.

Go is a warning to act early if a fire becomes a danger.
