Shocking poll: Harris beats Trump in deep red Iowa

Kamala Harris sensationally scored a major last-minute poll update Donald Trump in the key battleground state of Iowa, just three days before Tuesday's historic presidential election.

The Democratic candidate has overtaken her unpredictable Republican rival among voters despite earlier signs that her campaign had stalled in the key Hawkeye State and that Trump was a pursuer.

A nationally respected survey by Des Moines Register/Mediacom The vice president currently leads former President Trump 47% to 44%.

This follows an earlier poll in Iowa in September that showed Trump with an enviable 4-point lead over Harris. Incredibly, a June poll showed him with an 18-point lead over his rival Joe Biden.

“It's hard for anyone to say they saw this coming,” he said Register quotes pollster J. Ann Selzer, president of Selzer & Co. “She has clearly taken a leadership position.”

In the meantime, Whale decapitator Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — who dropped his independent presidential campaign to support his former rival Trump but is still running in Iowa — took 3% of the vote, compared with 6% in September and 9% in June.

The latest poll was conducted among 808 likely voters in Iowa – including those who said they had already voted and those who said they would definitely vote. It was conducted by Selzer & Co. from October 28th to 31st. The margin of error is reportedly plus or minus 3.4 percentage points.

Less than 1% of respondents said they would vote for Libertarian presidential candidate Chase Oliver.

Iowa is one of seven battleground states likely to decide the outcome of one of the most brutal presidential elections in living memory, amid intense rhetoric and insults, mostly from Trump.

The results come at a time when Trump and Harris have focused their attention almost exclusively on the seven battleground states that are expected to decide the outcome of the election.

A win for Harris in Iowa would be a major reversal, as the state supported Trump in 2016 and 2020.
