Steelers fans have mixed reactions to the QB decision in Week 7

The Steel City is still in disarray because just when it seemed like Pittsburgh had found its quarterback of the future, Justin Fields, after improving to 4-2 under its young signal-caller, Mike Tomlin pulled the plug on everyone away from under your feet. Russell Wilson, who battled a calf injury for most of the preseason and nearly every game of the regular season, appears to be on track to start for the Steelers in Week 7.

While Fields appears to be handling the news with maturity and calm, former coaches, players, analysts, commentators and Steelers fans are perplexed. Some fans argue that Wilson is inevitable in the starting lineup, while others insist that it would be impossible to bench Fields after the team won four of six games.

Tomlin's QB decision in Week 7 is polarizing to say the least, and fans have expressed mixed feelings on social media. Here are some of the best reactions to Fields being subbed in favor of Wilson:

Mike Tomlin is an all-time great coach, but I think it's very questionable that he would use Russell Wilson as a starter when they're 4-2 with Justin Fields. But I think time will tell 🤷🏾‍♂️

There's no way you can think that 35-year-old Russell Wilson (whom the Broncos are paying a historic sum to NOT play) has more potential than Justin Fields…who is 4-2 again this season.

• On pace for 30 touchdowns and 6 turnovers.
• OL is in 30/32nd place
• Najee Harris is their second-best receiver
• Russell Wilson has never made an OL better
• Fields has a rating above 90.0
• 4-2 W/L record and tied for 1st place

Justin Fields has 10 TDs to 1 turnover this year. Over 1,300 yards rushing and a 4-2 record as a starter, he may well be benched for Russell Wilson, whose best performance came over four years ago…absolutely disgusting
