“Taylor Swift's handwritten note to controversial celebrity comes under scrutiny from fans”

Taylor Swift has come under gentle fire over the handwritten note she personally delivered from her brother, Austin Swiftto Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy at an Eras Tour show Oct. 19 in Miami — but not for the reasons people might think.

The social media personality is a controversial figure as she has been accused of sexual misconduct by several women. Portnoy also has a history of misogynistic “humor” and sexist attacks against women working in sports media. However, the verification was not due to Portnoy's identity, but rather to the appearance of a seemingly hastily written letter – more specifically, Swift's handwriting.

On her iconic personal letterhead, which reads “from the desk of TAYLOR SWIFT” at the top and “SONGWRITER/FELINE ENTHUSIAST” at the bottom, Swift's note reads, “Dave, I'm so happy to have you on the show tonight.” ! I wanted to thank you for always being so supportive, so loyal, and for having my back when a lot of people wouldn't. I hope you have a lot of fun tonight!!

Despite his vocal support of Donald TrumpPortnoy defended the “Mastermind” singer after she officially gave her consent Kamala Harris for the president. “In this country people can vote for whoever they want,” he tweeted at the time. “How someone votes will never change my opinion of a person…”

Presumably Swift scribbled the note when she received confirmation that he was in attendance, not leaving much room for her signature at the bottom, instead squeezing it between the last line and her printed signature.

While Portnoy's fans were thrilled when he received the personalized message from Swift, many were less impressed with the visuals.

“This is amazing but low key, she has terrible handwriting,” one person responded to a photo shared on his podcast's Instagram account, while another wrote: “I didn't think anyone had worse handwriting than I could have, until I saw this.”

Other commenters agreed: “That signature is crazy lol” and “The signature is not what I expected,” while another said: “Wow I would have thought Taylor had beautiful handwriting 😂😂.”

Others believed that Swift did not write the note herself. One explained: “I'm sure it was her assistant…” and another comment read: “I'm sorry but the signature isn't Taylor's lol.”

However, in comparison to the handwriting of the singer's more recent diary entries, which were printed in special editions of loverit's pretty similar.
