The 5 Best New Foods at Minnesota Wild Games

3 minutes, 8 seconds Read

Ahead of the Minnesota Wild's home opener against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday, the Xcel Energy Center team previewed 30 new game foods for the media to preview. When it came to our top picks, State Fare — the stand that pays tribute to the food at the Great Minnesota Get-Together — came in first. Who can resist a corn dog with potato chips or a pickled pizza?

Most of the foods on our list can be found at general stalls and concession stands, with the exception of one on the club level. However, it's worth noting that all ticket holders can make reservations at the club level restaurants, the Reserve and Flynt and Kyndle. (To make a reservation or view the list of dining options, visit the Xcel Energy Center dining pages.)

Not just a clever name, because that potato crust was oh-so-crispy when we tasted this jazzed-up version of one of the best State Fair skewer dishes of all time. Drizzled with ketchup and mustard and then sprinkled with chives, this all-in-one meal is even cleverly packaged so all the goodness stays in place and is easy to take with you to your seat. $12.99, State Rate, Section 117.

State Fare's spinach features a sturdy crust that serves as a vessel for a pie with cucumber, cheese, white sauce and dill. It was also our favorite of the new vegetarian options. $9.49 each, State Rate, Section 117
