SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – The first real taste of fall weather moves into the ArkLaTex tonight and will last for several days.

As mentioned, cool air will arrive this evening accompanied by a gusty northeasterly breeze. When many of you wake up on Wednesday morning, temperatures will be in the high 40s.

There will be plenty of sunshine on Wednesday, but it will certainly feel like fall as places along and north of I-20 don't even see high temperatures exceed the 60s. Locations south of I-20 will see highs around 70.

It will be even colder on Wednesday evening, with many places reaching temperatures above 30 degrees. Locations along and north of I-30 could see readings in the mid-30s, with even a light freeze possible in some areas. Take out the washcloth and make sure you have the pot of gumbo ready to go!

Thursday will be another sunny and cool day with highs in the upper 60s and lower 70s.

A slow warming trend will then begin on Friday and continue into next weekend, with temperatures eventually climbing back into the low 80s.

Unfortunately our dry pattern will continue over the next seven days with no rain in sight.

Have a great evening!
