The country star's ex-girlfriend says she was “blindsided” by the couple's split

Country star Zach Bryan apparently “blindsided” Barstool Sports personality Brianna LaPaglia (aka Brianna Chickenfry) by sharing the couple's breakup on social media.

LaPaglia, who is originally from Boston, posted to her Instagram Story on Tuesday, October 22, after the “Pink Skies” singer announced the couple's split earlier in the day.

“I feel really blindsided at the moment. I'm going to stay off social media for a while and try to heal privately. When I’m ready, I’ll be back and ready to talk,” LaPaglia’s story reads. “I love you guys so much, thank you for all your kind words. Remember that you are loved and that everything will always be okay.”

LaPaglia's message came after Bryan posted to his Instagram Story earlier in the day.

“Brianna and I have separated and I respect and love her with all my heart,” he wrote. “She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time and I will always thank her for that.”

Bryan thought it would be best for the couple to split as he had been dealing with “some pretty serious things” lately, making it an “incredibly hard year” for him.

Breakup rumors began Monday after screenshots of Bryan's profile on celebrity dating app Raya circulated on Reddit and TikTok. Bryan apparently addressed these rumors on his Instagram story.

“I am not perfect and never will be,” he wrote. “To all that I am and to everyone I have let down, I am sorry. I try my best in everything. I have let down people who love me and especially myself.”

LaPaglia apparently confirmed that she and Bryan were dating in July 2023, Us Weekly reported at the time. The former couple even bought a home together in Duxbury in April, Boston.com reported.
