SAN ANTONIO – One month after Suzanne Clark Simpson was reported missing by her husband, people across the community are still searching for answers.

Olmos Park police said the 51-year-old mother of four and real estate agent disappeared Oct. 6 after witnesses saw her and her husband, Brad Simpson, fighting outside their home.

Police said Brad Simpson, 53, then waited a full 24 hours to report her missing. He was charged with murder on Thursday.

Leaflets announcing their disappearance that were distributed throughout the posh area have since faded or disappeared.

However, curiosity about the case, which attracted nationwide attention, does not seem to be waning.

“I saw the young woman's (flyer) in a tree and it caught my eye, so I went and read it,” Antonia Richardson said. “It's a heartbreaking story. It’s hard to believe, right here in Olmos Park.”

Richardson, who was training on the trails near Olmos Park Basin Thursday morning, said she had recently traveled and couldn't follow all the details of the case.

Still, Richardson said she feels for the Simpsons' children.

“Yes. I hope they get closure,” she said.

David Drapen said he was surprised that the high-profile case had not yet been concluded.

“You would have thought someone knew or heard something,” Drapen said. “I mean, it's just tragic and probably could have been prevented.”

The Olmos Park Police Department, with assistance from the Department of Public Safety's Texas Rangers, conducted numerous searches for Suzanne Clark Simpson.

The searches included three days of digging at a local landfill.

Yet they didn't find her.

Greg Sieffert believes it will only be a matter of time before the police solve the case.

“I think they’re working on it and doing what they’re supposed to do,” Sieffert said. “You’ll figure it out and then we’ll figure it out.”

Police said Brad Simpson, who has been in jail since Oct. 7, has not cooperated with them in the investigation.

He was charged with murder on Thursday.

He was initially arrested on a charge related to family violence. However, more charges have since been added, including a federal charge of possession of an illegal weapon.
