The Packers consider Jordan Love questionable for a game against the Vikings

GREEN BAY, Wis. – For the third straight Friday, the Green Bay Packers have listed quarterback Jordan Love as questionable.

Love hasn't played in the last two weeks.

Coach Matt LaFleur wouldn't say whether this week would be any different.

Early indications this week suggested Love would return for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings (3-0) at Lambeau Field. However, on Thursday, Love skipped one of the practice drills that required significant mobility, but returned to the next drill during the public media session.

“I think whenever he’s out there, it’s encouraging,” LaFleur said. “But we’ll see.”

The Packers didn't place Love on injured reserve after he sprained the MCL in his left knee in the season opener because they believed the injury wouldn't keep him out for the four weeks he would miss if they moved him there would. With Malik Willis at quarterback, the Packers defeated the Colts and Titans (2-1) in Love's absence.

The Packers called up quarterback Sean Clifford from the practice squad for the final two games to back up Willis. This move must be made by 4 p.m. ET on Saturday in order for Clifford to return to fitness on Sunday.

However, that may not mean Love won't play, as LaFleur hinted that Clifford could still be upgraded on Saturday even if Love plays against the Vikings.

The Packers also have injury concerns on defense. Cornerback Jaire Alexander did not practice Friday after being limited the previous two days with a quadriceps injury. On Friday, Alexander suffered a groin injury and was listed as questionable.

The duel between Alexander and Justin Jefferson was one of the most anticipated aspects of Sunday's game. The Vikings' star receiver said Thursday that he was looking forward to the game and that he was going to “get my griddy in his end zone,” referring to his touchdown celebration.
