3 – Rookies make great plays

Buffalo's win wouldn't have been possible without key plays from a handful of their rookies. WR Keon Coleman, RB Ray Davis and DT DeWayne Carter all contributed to the win in different ways.

And although he wasn't part of the team's 2024 draft class and was acquired via trade, DB/Returner Brandon Codrington also stepped up with 56 punt return yards.

Coleman became just the third rookie receiver this season, joining Malik Nabers and Marvin Harrison Jr., to record more than 125 receiving yards in a game.

Coleman rushed for a career-high 125 yards on four catches and tied for the team lead with seven targets. The receiver showed the ability to break off big plays as his catches resulted in gains of 44, 14, 57 and 10 yards.

“Pretty much everything Joe Brady called worked,” Coleman said. “We brought all the different looks that we practiced into play and implemented them at a high level.”

Allen praised Coleman for his continued development in his first season.

“It's hard not to blame him. But just sticking with it, trusting the offense, trusting what’s going on,” the quarterback said.

New teammate Amari Cooper added: “Congratulations to young Buck Keon on his first 100-yard game. He really made a number of plays out there.”

Carter provided a spark on defense with his fourth down stop of the third quarter. He finished the day with three tackles, bringing his total to nine tackles on the season. Davis rounded out the victory in style with a 16-yard TD run in the final stages of the fourth quarter. The Kentucky product finished with 41 rushing yards on five attempts and led the Bills in rushing in consecutive games.
