The Jacksonville Jaguars will hit the road to face the Philadelphia Eagles in a Week 9 NFL battle between two teams that have improved in recent weeks.

The Jaguars (2-6) have somewhat recovered from a poor start to 2024. After four straight losses, Jacksonville went 2-2 last month, including a win over an AFC South rival, the Indianapolis Colts. Last week the Jaguars fell to the Green Bay Packers, but Jacksonville came back from trailing by 10 in the fourth quarter to tie the game, only to lose on a field goal as time expired. Despite losing wide receiver Christian Kirk to a season-ending broken collarbone, quarterback Trevor Lawrence surpassed 300 passing yards in the game, a sign that the Jaguars' offense could be gaining some momentum.

Philadelphia (5-2) has come out of a bye in Week 5, rattling off three straight wins while showing significant defensive improvement. The opponent had scored 24.5 points per game against the Eagles before the off week, but had only averaged 12 points in the team's last three games.

Last week's 37-17 road win over the Cincinnati Bengals was perhaps the best game of the season so far for Philadelphia, which committed two defensive turnovers in the fourth quarter to secure the win. A rushing attack centered around running back Saquon Barkley (108 rushing yards) and quarterback Jalen Hurts (three touchdowns on the ground) proved too much for Cincinnati and will be a real test for Jacksonville.
