There is still a risk of forest fires in the northeast

Hurricane season is approaching “extreme” levels even after a sluggish summer

The start of the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season was marked by predictions of a “hyperactive year,” and after a busy start to the season, activity tapered off over the summer. However, as the end of September approached and the calendar turned to October, the tropics came back to life.

So did the late season surge make up for lost time? FOX Weather takes a look.

Weather forecast for the 2024 World Series

As millions prepare for the World Series, the weather in both host cities doesn't appear to be a factor, unlike previous championships.

The FOX Forecast Center expects high temperatures in the 70s in Southern California and mostly sunny skies for Games 1 and 2 at Dodger Stadium. The New York Yankees will take on the game Los Angeles Dodgers after winning their respective divisions.

The series marks the 12th time the teams have met in the Fall Classic, with the Yankees having won eight of the series and the Dodgers winning three.
