Monday is a first weather alert day for North Texas as strong and severe storms threaten.

Be prepared for an active day with multiple ways to receive alerts. Most of North Texas is under a mild threat of severe weather, with the threat of quarter-sized hail, winds up to 60 miles per hour, localized flooding and an isolated tornado.

Counties farther north, including Denton, Collin, Grayson and Cooke, have an increased risk of severe weather – where the chance of a tornado and damaging winds is highest.
