Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is raising his profile and probably his price tag while on loan at Galatasaray, scoring twice in a matter of minutes against Tottenham in the Europa League this evening.

The Nigeria international was sent to Turkey on loan this summer after transfers to Chelsea and Al Ahli fell through.

It was hoped that this would give him regular game time and convince previously hesitant clubs that he was worth something like the release clause in his contract, which has now been reduced from €130m to €90m and then to €90m in the January window became 75 m in June 2025.

This plan could well work, as the 25-year-old has scored four goals and four assists in seven competitive games and harmonizes well with former Napoli striker Dries Mertens.

Tonight he added to that tally with two goals in just a few minutes to give Galatasaray a 3-1 lead in the Europa League against Tottenham Hotspur in Istanbul.

That evening it was not the Italian international Guglielmo Vicario who was in goal, but Fraser Forster.
