The New Orleans Saints' defense and special teams started off strong against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 8, scoring their first score of the day on a forced safety.

Los Angeles botched the snap on its second punt of the day and Taysom Hill, recently returning from an injury, forced the punter to cough up the ball after attempting a recovery. This caused the ball to slip out of the end zone and New Orleans secured, giving them an early 2-0 lead.

The Saints haven't had a safety since 2020, when they played in the matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. They will now look to extend their two-point lead as the game progresses and we will see if they can capitalize on this rare occurrence.
