Whit Weeks and Bradyn Swinson put on two incredible defensive performances

Coming into the week as LSU, everyone knew the Tigers would take the field and demand a Herculean effort from the defense. The Rebels' offense has the ability to score at lightning speed, which could have destroyed the Tigers' defense, but two players stepped up and shut down that offense.

As Ole Miss tried to pass, Jaxson Dart was under constant pressure as the defense tightened up. However, it was the play of one player that really changed this game and that was Bradyn Swinson. Almost every time a player's name was mentioned on defense, it was Bradyn Swinson, who was everywhere for LSU.

Bradyn Swinson had another two-sack performance with 2.5 tackles for a loss and two pass breakups. The two sacks don't tell the whole story, as Swinson took multiple holdouts and constantly pushed Jaxson Dart to speed up his progress.

The only player who may have had a better game than Bradyn Swinson was linebacker Whit Weeks. The linebacker was nearly ejected for a targeting call in the first half and LSU is definitely thankful he stayed in the game. Weeks finished the game with 18 total tackles, ten of which were solo, with a sack, a pass breakup and a forced fumble.

The performance even earned Weeks some help from another great LSU linebacker, Patrick Queen.

In the secondary, LSU had a tough task against Ole Miss' wide receivers and their task was made easier when Tre Harris left the game with an injury. PJ Woodland made a crucial pass breakup late in the game, sending the game into overtime. Ashton Stamps benefited from a Harris drop, but he broke up three passes and performed well. Zy Alexander had the best game of the group, adding another interception and a pass breakup.
