BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Are you going to the Taylor Swift concert in New Orleans this weekend? Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill gave concertgoers some tips to avoid fraud.

The Eras Tour takes place October 25-27 at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. As people look for last-minute tickets to the highly anticipated concert, Murrill shared some tips on how to avoid ticket scams.

These tips include buying tickets only from official sources, using secure payment methods, researching the seller or website, being wary of offers that seem too good to be true, reporting suspected fraud, and reporting unwanted ones To pay attention to emails and messages and not to reveal any personal information, says a press release.

Murrill also noted in the press release that concertgoers should also be wary of hotels and companies that are reportedly canceling reservations made in advance and charging for rooms before the event.

“It is wrong to take advantage of Louisiana residents and tourists visiting our state, and the state consumer protection law prohibits unfair and deceptive practices,” Murrill said. “I encourage everyone to do their homework and research before making a concert-related purchase this weekend.”
