Wurstfest: What you need to know about parking and road closures

Wurstfest, one of the largest Oktoberfest festivals in the United States, takes place November 1-10 in New Braunfels.

What you should know

Drinks and beer purchasing: Guests now have the option to purchase beer and wine with credit cards. Guests can still purchase drink tickets if they bring cash. According to festival officials, bars only accept credit cards and drink tickets.

Road closures: The City of New Braunfels announced Oct. 31 that the westbound lane of Landa Street from Zink Street to Landa Park Drive will be closed to vehicle traffic but open to pedestrian traffic throughout the duration of the festival. These closures will occur from:

  • November 1st: 2:00 p.m.-1:00 a.m
  • November 2nd: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 a.m
  • November 3rd: 9:00 a.m. – midnight
  • 4th–8th November: 3:00 p.m. – midnight
  • November 9th: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 a.m
  • November 10th: 9:00 a.m. – midnight

Carpool: Uber, Lyft and other ride-hailing services have a designated pickup and drop-off area at Mill Race Run in Landa Park.

Bus and limousine routes: The route is Loop 337 and Common Street; Common Street to Union Street; Union Street to West Torrey Street; West Torrey Street to Elizabeth Avenue; and Hinman Island Drive for drop-off and pick-up.

Park: Parking in Landa Park and other areas around the Wurstfest site is limited. Visitors can find the following nearby parking spaces below:

  • Landa Park, 164 Landa Park Drive, New Braunfels
  • New Braunfels Lions Club, 111 Landa St., New Braunfels
  • Knights Of Columbus, 111 Landa St., New Braunfels
  • Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 386 N. Castell Ave., New Braunfels

Parking and driving: Park and ride and shuttle services are available daily at the Comal County Fairgrounds throughout the festival period.

  • $10 (ages 13 and up), free (children 12 and under)

Barrier-free parking: The Comal County Senior Citizens Center, the Knights of Columbus and the New Braunfels Lions Club have accessible spaces with bus transportation. Gate 2 is an accessible exit point for anyone who has a passenger who requires assistance.

  • $10 (non-members), $8 (members)
